Mohamed Mselhy, our men's volleyball team head coach, is happy to be back on the training ground at Abdullah Al Faisal Hall as preparations begin ahead for an exciting season for the Masters.
We sat with our head coach and had a quick conversation to discuss the team's preparations for the new season and his ambitions with the Masters.
The Masters' pre-season just started with some fitness exercises and the fitness level will increase gradually when we get our international players back to ensure that our champions are ready for the new season.
"We are excited for the new season. We have huge ambitions and we want to have a historic season. I trust my players and I believe in their ability to meet the high expectations of our fans."
"We do not have a final schedule of the new season and that does not help us follow a scheduled plan for the team."
"I would like to thank the club's president Mahmoud El Khatib, the club's board and the club's director of sports activities, Raouf Abdelkader, for their constant support to the team. With their support, we managed to strengthen our squad by signing new players."
One of the new signings that will the red jersey next season is USA national team player, Garrett Muagututia, who is currently participating with his team in the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Mselhy looks very happy with the new signing and he believes he will be a great addition to our high-profile squad.
"Muagututia is an amazing player and he decided to join Al Ahly despite receiving offers with more money thanks to the professionalism of our directors. I think he will be a great addition to our team."
We are happy to have new players to support the Masters next season but we will also miss some of our veterans like Mahmoud Raouf and Abdellatif Osman, who retired from volleyball by the end of last season.
"We will miss Abdellatif and Mahmoud Raouf but that is make us more motivated and driven ahead of the new season. We will do our best and we will spare no effort to win titles and make our fans happy.
